Having a Ball

Karina was one of the first people to contact me when I did my call out for soon to be mums. You may remember this shot I took at the Show earlier this year.
To give you a little update Jeremy is now an Alderman and Karina is just about to pop, so very exciting and busy times.

I don’t know if Karina really was getting herself into, the bedroom shots were a great start but then it was out to the street with only a sheet. I believe we managed to scare a few neighbours.

And how could we not take some with the new Alderman, Jeremy arrived part way through the session and we all walked up into the start of the Gorge for some appropriate shots in the bush.

And as usual, here are the furry family members as it is at the moment with Molly and Oscar the dogs and Denzel the black cat with attitude.

Scott and Vicki

The session with Scott and Vicki was supposed to be a nice couple shoot, but that all changed when Scott popped the question the week before turning into an engagement portrait!

We got some fantastic playful shots down behind Richies Mill, i especially love the piggy back shot above.

These guys are so in love and it just shows in the photos and was such a pleasure to be able to take these shots at this special time in their lives!

Congratulations again!

Star Landing

Remember Georgie from her pregnancy session? Well she has now welcomed little Stella into the world. There was a star theme to some of the shots as the name Stella means star and there wasn’t a shortage of star things about to use as props.

Stella behaved quite well for her first session, doing the model tantrum thing well and also doing the fantastic baby expressions. I love this last one, I think it really captures that bond between mother and child.

Congratulations again Georgie, i’m sure Stella will live up to her name!

Strong Family

This session is a couple of months old now, I put off posting it as it was going to be a christmas present, but i found out the presents have been opened already so it’s posting time!

This session was threatened by very large storm clouds, and we spent a bit of time having some tea and cake waiting for the little rain to stop or the downpour to come. Tim and Jane and their four boys, Rob, Henry, Sam and Peter were great to photograph, i’ve known Tim’s father for along time as he used to be my headmaster! Each boy has such a different personality, it was fun capturing them all.

The photo of Pete riding off down the garden path was a favourite from the session

And of course… Becky the dog had her own shot too, you know me, i can’t leave a pet un-photographed!

Hingston Kids

I havn’t run this much since my last high school cross country! The plan was to get a nice photo of Bella and Xavier together… but te plan really didn’t come together with Xavier not coming within a couple of meters of Bella the whole session! There was so many places to run too and then run back from and then run to again and run… run … run so much running!

On the other hand Bella was great, and posed up a storm in the middle of the daisies. I can tell she will be a runer too, she kept crawling to the edge of the blanket!

White Family

This girl is such an explore! I met up with Allison, Ian and their daughter Chloe and new addition to the family Damon. Damon spent a lot of the shoot feeding which gave Chloe time to explore the gorge car park and probably would have gone off climbing down past the protective fences if we let her.

in the end we got some great shots, some a litle more posed but as usual my favourite ones are the shots that show the relationship of the family. Congratulations again on the arrival of Damon, I hope he grows strong quickly so he can keep up with Chloe!

Before and After - Emma and Otto

Emma is one of my previous wedding clients and it was fantastic that her and Greg were expecting an addition to the family. So I made the trip down to Snug to shoot her a few weeks before the baby was due. I knew Emma loved horses and came on the idea of shoting in a hay shed. The above photo was the result. Greg was great in rigging up a tarp to add extra shade and other general photography assisting things!

A few weeks later Otto arrived and this is his first big shoot! He is so expressive, i loved so many photos from the session. I’m really looking forward to visiting again in 6 months when we are booked in for some more photos.

And how could i not take some photos of Zali, the dog who seems to always in trouble for running away!

Michael and Stephanie

Stephanie and Michael are another couple who bought family and friends down from the mainland to help celebrate their wedding at historic Brickendon near Longford. Michael had an exam the day before the wedding and only arrived in Tasmania the evening beforehand.

We met up with the guys for a large breakfast down at the Seaport and then some shot of Michael and best man/brother out at Alanvale Manor . Steph had her hair done at Stephen Roney’s, make up at Mud Club and then getting her frock on at the Colonial Motor Inn.

Then it was out to Brickendon and the ceremony in the cute small church which was standing room only once everyone was packed in. After all the family shots were taken, the animal chasing commenced (mostly chickens and pigs) before heading into some of the old buildings to explore and get some different shots.

The bridal party piled back into the limo for a garden invasion, which on the way stopped for a frolic on a road, surprising some passing motorcyclists and headed to the reception held at the Colonial Motor Inn.

Everyone was very relaxed and the day just flowed perfectly, and we all had a heap of fun , plus took some really great photos. Congratulations again Steph and Michael, I’m really looking forward to showing you your final shots.

Ruby, Jessica and Grant

Jessica and Grant drove all the way from Queenstown on west coast to have some photos taken of their little Ruby. It was a great little shoot in the gorge with Ruby even giving us some smiles!

Ruby really loved playing with her little maracas!
