Grass - Old Midlands Hwy

I’ll be driving past this grass in the morning… Off to Melbourne to do some Comedy Festival things. Back in the evening, so some photos will arrive here at some stage.

Old man with bag - Holga Shot

My plan is to add a new photo every few days. I shoot so many images that are not client based and never get the chance to show any one. So it’s time for the blog to share the images with everyone.

This is a Holga shot taken a couple of weeks ago, one of those found shots, they only exist for a second or two and you have to think fast to capture them.

I love the baggy pants!

Preece down the alleyway

A couple of weeks ago i returned to my favourite alleyway and did a very fun shoot with the Michael and his kids.

Michael was a former photographer in Launceston and it is very gratifying and humbling to shoot another photographer’s family. It can be a little scary, knowing the person in front of the lens knows what you are doing, but it was just a really enjoyable shoot.

It was so much fun that it was hard to stop everyone laughing at the same time to get a shot done. Thanks again for the great shoot!

Beautiful Empire Shoot

Last week we had a shoot for Beautiful Empire, which is a project by Tara Badcock and Monique Germon for design island.

The shoot started in South Hobart, with everyone getting ready at Monique’s house, where we got some great detail shots of Monique’s style while our models, Anoushka and Mandy hastily prepared themselves by sitting on the couch in the back yard.

We started shooting at the female factory before progressing up the hill for some shots with a great view of Mt Wellington then out into the country side, visiting a big log and a lane-way populated by oak trees. We finnished the shoot on an old railway bridge and managed to pile into the car before getting soaked.

Well actually… we did get soaked.

Zakk pretending to be evil and Rainer pretending to be tied to the rail way tracks.

There are some more shots from the shoot that Tara and Monique took on theĀ  Beautiful Empire site

Anyone feal like a bit of Martini?

I saw this in hobart the other day, Martin Martini and the Bone Place Orchestra are coming as part of their national tour. I took this shot a couple of years ago, and its good to see its getting to used all over the place.

And yes its a real chicken!

check their music and tour dates out here.

Odd and Even Market

The Peacock Theater was alive with the sound of crafty people on Saturday It was the first Odd and Even market with a wide variety of stalls from lot of fantastic arts, crafts, foody, booky people.

Vikashni did very well selling most of her softies, including the snowpeople and bunnies.

Suz from Cocoon had a great bird stall selling ear rings.

Once a bunny was in a hand, it was sold!

There was a whole board full of snow people, bunnies and squirrels. Most of them went!

I’m also a fan of Cat Rabbits work, she also had a popular stall.

My friend Benny was also there flogging his latest book,a collaboration with cartoonist Leigh Rigozzi, check out an interview with them here. The book is available at Fullers in Launceston and Hobart.

I’ll keep you updated where Vikashni is going to be selling her stuff, i really think it’s great and that isn’t a biased opinion of her fiancee. You can buy things right now from her Etsy store
