What’s going on? The Update

I’ve officially stopped work for a few weeks, Saturday is the day I get married to Vikashni! I’m excited, she has been mentioning her dress a bit and i’m really excited to see what it looks like, plus the whole getting married thing!

I have a few blog posts saved up for posting while we are off on our honeymoon. Plus there may be some posts from the trip. And you never know, there may be some wedding snaps uploaded too.

I won’t really be checking emails or answering the phone. I haven’t had a descent holiday for a while and really looking forward to this one, especially as it will be with Vikashni and have lots of special momens in it for both of us.

Alright, enough of this, i’m off to pick up my soon to be wife (see below)!

I’m excited!!! She is going to look so beautiful!

Rod and Lisa

Last Saturday saw Lisa and Rod’s wedding in Launceston. Everyone of the wedding party and guests were down from Melbourne for the day. Apparently they had heard there was no where to have a good breakfast in Launceston, we set that straight by sending the girls (and one boy) to Elaia and the guys off to the Basin cafe.

Lisa then had her hair made spectacular at Hues and all pretty at Pure Body

During the week i had heard good things about Em Flaherty from Green Apple Designs, and finally got to see some of her fantastic flower work at the wedding.

Everyone got ready at Rosevears Estate. Everyone looked really fantastic.

Rod had his son Owen as his bestman

The ceremony took place at sunset with amazing golden light lighting up everyone.

Barb Youd did another great job in personalising the ceremony for Lisa and Rod, and even spent a couple of hours the day before the wedding helping sort out all kinds of airline chaos.

Rod’s dad forgot to shave and I was requested to get a close up as a reminder! He did manage to pop off for a quick shave while we were taking some photos.

Light was running out so we only had a very small time for some shots in the vineyard, but the light that we did have was magical.

How amazing did the vineyards look, Rod has a vineyard in Victoria, so these shots were just perfect to show his love of wine.

Thanks again Rod and Lisa for the fantastic day, we had a really good time shooting it, I hope Port Douglas has been relaxing and look out for somthing special in the mail when you get home!

A couple of previews

Here are a couple of preview shots from a couple of shoots I had this week. They were both fantastic shoots, so i couldn’t leave without letting them see at least one photo each. More when I get back from the honeymoon!

Ebonee

I headed ot to Hadspen the other day for a portrait session with Ebonee. It was a late afternoon shoot so started to get a little on the cool side, but she did well even laying on the ground for a few shots.

I was surprised to find so many good locations around the picnic ground next to the river, it is a spot i’ll be returning too again.

Thanks again Ebonee for letting me take the shots!

Beautiful Empire

The posters are up! All over the place you should be seeing a selection of these images displaying the work of Tara Badcock and Monique Germon. It’s all part of Design Island which is on around Tasmania at the moment. The shots were taken in Hobart and also out near New Norfolk.

I’ve always been a big fan of Tara’s work, I didn’t know much about Monique’s work before; but i’m a fan of it now i’ve seen it.

The whole shoot was probably the most involved lightingI have undertaken in a long time, reflectors, off caera flash and even mixing it all with video light. Lots of fun

Big thanks to Zakk and Rainier who did a very good job of holding all the lighting equipment

The Prescott Boys

These guys got in touch a couple of weeks before their first trip to Tasmania. Thier Dad moved down and they decided to come and visit him (or sample as much Boags as they could… not sure what was the main mission)

We took the shots at Rosevears, near the Tavern. It’s a great spot and it wasn’t too cold for these guys.

Normally when i’m shooting 4 guys, it is normally just before a wedding. This time there was no wedding in site so I ust had to try make them look like a boy band, a good boy band.

So at the end, these guys got some great shots, saw their Dad and had a few drinks. All good!
