Holga Wedding Fun!

THese shots are from Heidi and Wayne’s wedding. One of the first things Wayne commented on was my Holga photos. Generally no one knows what a Holga is. Wayne owns one, uses it and had a whole heap of other cool-but-not-quite-right cameras. So i took a roll of Holga at the wedding, here are my favourites!

Ava’s 2nd

You may remember Ava from her first shoot last year. Well now she has hit the big 1 and we had another visit to get some “grown up” shots. This time her grandparents were around to have some photos to, plus we caught up with those very cute animals again.

Megan and Charlie

We headed off to the country last Saturday or Megan and Charlie’s big day. It was the second time I have shot on Megan’s family farm, the first time was for Rob (Megan’s brother) and Veronica’s engagement session.

The day started a little bit closer to town on Charlie’s family farm just outside Longford. We arrived as the guys were cooling down from water skiing. Once they were dressed and the customary search for the cufflinks had finished we went over to the main house where we met the spud gun and I was nearly eaten by a dog.

It was the usual chaos out at Dairy Plains at Megan’s farm, it was nice to see her parents again. The back yard had been converted into a church and just beyond that the marquee was all set for the reception. Megan’s dress came all the way from Melbourne and she looked fantastic once she was all dressed.

The garden made a spectacular church and was filled with so many friends and family. It really was a very beautiful setting for their ceremony. Afterwards we headed off onto the farm to get some shots with the bridal party. As always, farms produce a really diverse range of locations for photos and we used many of them, from the hay bales to the feed store. Plus when you add in the mountains in the near distance, it was fantastic for photos.

The marquee was set up by family and friends, and I have to say it was the best marquee set up for a wedding I had ever seen. The pears on the tables represented the history of the Terry’s, who had orchards when they first came to Tasmania. Plus the cutlery was totally farm, they reminded me of my grandparents cutlery. Very cool.

Big thanks again Megan and Charlie, it was get to share your day with you and also with your friends and families.

Ben and Irene

Ben and Irene are getting married later in the year, and so it was engagement shoot time. Yet again we explored areas close to the studio and found even more locations, I wonder when I will run out?

Ben and Irene are full on into their wedding planning so it was great to get the updates on whats has been going on. Plus we had some fun and took some great photos.

Glen and Bernie

Wow. How is this for a around, engaged in Paris earlier at the end of last year, married less than three months later on the east coast of Tasmania. BAM! And it couldn’t be more perfect. Glen was best man in Georgie and Garth’s wedding a couple of years back and it was fantastic to catch up with a few familiar faces at this big day.

I say big day, but really it was a peaceful small ceremony at Avalon overlooking the sea with big clouds. Only close friends and family were in attendance, making it feel even more special for us to be there to document it.

After the ceremony, it was to the beach with a couple of special friends each. Nature was good to us, no rain but perfect clouds and light. Such an amazing place to be sharing with a very happy couple.

Thanks again Glen and Bernie for such a fantastic experience, here are some photos to get you started. Many more where these came from!

Andrew and Clare

This is the first wedding that I can actually remember the groom in nappies (not the bucks night, like 24 years ago!) Andrew spent the first few years of his life living down the street, our Dad’s even worked together for a while. Now he is all grown up and met Clare at Relay for Life a few years ago and now they are all married.

I’m not sure if you saw the weather on Saturday in Launceston. It was a little wet, little being an understatement. It poured. Which meant that I got all excited with all the possibilities that rain brings with it.

Andrew and the boys started off by showing us how to not play golf, while the girls got all nice looking in town. Andrew likes cars, and hearing his commentary about his dad’s car mauvering abilities were great. I’m not sure why it took so long to get it out of the garage, but it did!

St Johns Church in Launceston was saw the coming together of the two families, it was so impressive that both Andrew and Clare’s parents and grand parents had all been married in the same church. It is fantastic to see such an great  family tradition.

After the ceremony we ventured off into another different location. Somehow along the way it was decided to go to Andrew’s work to take some photos. As this was a timber yard I was up for it. Very different, very fun and look at the pubbles! It was worth getting drenched for these shots.

It all wound up in at the Grand Chancellor, which put on a great spread. We enjoyed surprising most of the guests (and the bride) with a same day slideshow of their photos.

Thanks again Andrew and Clare for being up for anything! I hope you guys are enjoying New Zealand, look forward to catching up with you when you get back.
