Shon happened to be a couple of years below me at shool, we reconnected briefly at his cousin Clare’s wedding that he happened to be MCing and which we were lucky enough to shoot. Flash forwards a couple of years and Shon and great wife Lisa have bought little Anna into the world. Anna is the first baby i can remember that actually arrived on her due date, so there is some expectations on her being punctual the rest of her life. Anna was a dream little girl to work with, there were a few of those baby tremours but really she was just so sweet the whole shoot. Of course, I have to mention my fantastic assistand on this shoot Sheamus, who managed to get in on the act and displayed some very good dog behaviour.

Ok. It is true. City Park is the place that is a default location for alot of sessions. Why? Well because it’s known, easy to get to and kids can run around freely and only need to be worried about getting run over by the train or obducted by monkeys. It’s not my favourite place to shoot, so I only really go there for shoots that have some reason to be there. I say it’s not my favourite place because it gets over used… but with Raquelle and Chris I did some discovering… I want to do more shoots in City Park now. It’s fantastic. Trees, Grass, Monkeys, it has it all!

Raquelle and Chris had one of their first date kind of things there, so it was a great spot for their shoot, and what a fun shoot it was.

It’s about time to we shared another Natural Light Studio sessions. I am always excited when Alan comes home with the camera after a Natural Light Shoot. Toni’s shoot was amazing, when I saw the pictures I thought that Toni could easily be a model from a fashion magazine! I just love the light wave that the girls put though Toni’s hair too.

I have been loving all of the natural light studio work so I thought it was about time that I got into the studio and my own shoot done. Plus I’s bought an awesome dress recently and was hanging out to wear it. I will have to say that the natural light sessions are a heap of fun there is nothing better than having someone else do your make up and hair for you, Thank you again Kirby and Brianna you are fantastic!

This is the dress that I bought a few months back its amazing but discovered that is is made out of the worst fabric ever. I took it to the dry cleaners and they told that I have to be extra carful with it because the fabric stains really really easily. I hate that, a great dress and i’ll be paranoid everytime I wear it  

Mark is one of those guys you meet and like instantly. I first met him probably 10 or more years ago when he was making and delivery coffee at Glenroys when they used to be next to Sportsgirl, I then followed him to the new Glenroys in the Cd Centre (showing my age as none of these places exist in their old forms any more) and then onto Morties, then he made a big leap over to Mud, then an even bigger leap down to Hobart. I lost track of him for a little while down there but then managed to find him and again follow him through a couple of places. Then he disappeared again. This time to Melbourne. I had no idea where or what he was doing, until a chance conversation gave me a lead in Melbourne, a name of the place he was working. I promptly forgot that name. So when I was in Melbourne a few weeks ago I do an online trawl through cafe/bar/restaurants in central Melbourne and one of them seemed familiar even though i’d never been there… Cumulus Inc. Was it because i’d read about it in a magazine or was it where Mark was?

We went. No Mark. But awesome breakfast and coffee.

I then had the brainwave. So simple. Guaranteed way of finding Mark and where he was working. Something so basic that was going to deliver the goods.

I texted him.

I may have forgotten I had his mobile number.

He replied, I had the right place but the wrong time of day.

I went back the next day, Mark has progressed along way since delivering coffee around Launceston. Cumulus Inc is lucky to have a great and dedicated hospitality legend like Mark working there. He’s not so much making coffees any more, genereally running about offering good service and choosing some good wines for people to drink. Chasing Mark is fun, I look forward to the day he has his own place and I’ll be able stop the chasing.

Yes, Halloween is from the USA and it seems that the marketers waht to make it Australian too so that they can sell more lollies and get more kids damaging people’s property when there is no treat. We jumpped on the bangwagon with a slitly silly secret superhero project. We put out the call for Launceston’s superheros to come by the studio and have a photo taken. I still have no idea who these people are in real life, i’m sure they have alterego’s out there doing mundane jobs like making coffee or planning events. I guess we will never know….

It’s always great catching up with previous wedding clients, especiall when they bring along their kids.
Abigail was at the wedding, it was also her naming ceremony. Edward is the new kid on the block.
We spent a great morning running about in St George’s Square just avoiding the bad weather that was threatening us from all directions. Abigail has turned into quite the runner and Edward has a very cool serious look about him.

It’s been a couple of years since I caught up with Brendan, Claire and Issac. In that time they have added little Oliver to the family. Issac has turned into quite a cool little kid too, I seemed to have made yet another best friend! Oliver is pretty cool too, did a good job of being cute for the whole session.

I also had some serious envy issues to about the addition of the awesome pizza oven in the back yard. At least I got to try some pizza now I want one in our back yard.

I now know not to say to teenage boys “run at me”. Thought i was going to loose an eye, or at least a camera – Alan

Emily emailed me a couple of weeks ago and asked me if I could come take some portraits of her with her grandparents. Thelma and Jock have been married for 64 years and living in the house Emily knows for 31 years. From talking I discovered that they met up in St Helens, how they remet after the war when Jock called out for Thelma when she was coming out of a hairdressers on Charles Street and other little trinkets of their lives. Emily learnt a lot to, like the grandfather clock in the hall was made from timber from trees that Jock grew.

Thanks again Emily for letting me come and meet your grandparents, it was a real honour to spend some time with the.

I really thought that I had posted this post, even when I had been reminded that I hadn’t. So finally here is a great family portrait session shot down at Inveresk last year at the end of Spring. Jasper is a pretty awesome kid, apparently it’s said of him often. Surely a kid can’t be that awesome? But he is. Gabby was in a rush for this shoot as Jasper had his first wobbly tooth and wanted shots of him before his smile had missing teeth. All in all this was a pretty awesome shoot so much so that I have a Folio Box in the gallery featuring this session. Thanks again you guys for the fun images and great shoot.

So it’s chris and Anita’s wedding, i’m about to go get the suit on, double check the cameras and injest a can or 2 of red bull. The spot we were thinking about doing some photos seems to be under a heap of water that fell from the sky yesterday. So it’s onto plan b, which is as good as plan a. I just hope that we can get to the church, i’ve packed some floties just incase. More about plan b next week when I unleash a heap of photos from these guys wedding. Well, after another look through some blog posts I realised that this great shoot somehow managed to get missed. But not anymore. Here are Jack and Lula and their grown ups Suzanna and Paul at their place from April I believe. These guys were a bit on the fun side, plus they have chickens. Chickens are great. I chased this shot for about 3 years. As part of my final year uni folio I did a series of portraits of comedians and the hardest part of the whole process was getting the comedians to say yes to the shoots. There were a few phone calls, emails back and forward to Anthony via his management over a couple of months and in the end I just ran out of time. Flash Forwards a few years and I bump into Anthony in Hobart, I was a little surprised to see him and even more surprised to find he lived “just south of nowhere”. He had pretty much dropped out of the comedy world and lived about an hour south of Hobart.
We exchanged details and a couple of month later I was at his place for a couple of hours taking a few shots. To show how long ago it was I took a couple of rolls of film*and a few on my new digital camera  the Fuji S2.

I tend to know when I have a good shot, you tend to feal that you have captured something special. The trick is to not let on to the people in the photo because you might have screwed up focus, light, any number of things. I knew with this one it was a good shot. I entered it in the Tasmanian Awards, it got a silver. I entered it in the Australian Awards and it got a gold. I remember being called up while driving up Trevallyn and being told. I nearly drove off a cliff. Golds are rare and it’s something i’m still trying to achieve again. So to have one that was many years in the making is definitely a highlight.

Anthony told me after he saw the shots he went and got a hair cut. Thansk again Morgan for letting me come visit all those years ago.

I just discovered another blog post that somehow managed to get missed in the schedule. So here it is, Lennox and his parents Nick and Nikki. These guys had such a beautiful little garden up the back that I knew would look fantastic. We just had to wait for the sun to get some heat up first before we ventured out. Very glad we did. Congratulations again Nick and Nikki.

Samuel popped by the studio last week for his close up. You may remember him from when he was a Peanut. He did pretty well with his first big photo session, it was so exciting that he barely could keep his eyes closed.  I think everything was a bit interesting to look at, especially that big black thing I kept putting infront of my face.

Congratulations again Claire and Jason on your new little boy, good luck with the Christening on Sunday.

Hmm. this blog post somehow got lost in the ether but has now found it’s way to the world and i’m really glad  it has. We had such a great time with Matilda and her grown ups. How lucky are they to have an amazing park across the road from their home? Matilda was a little on the shy side to start with but once I did a portrait of her pull-a-long duck, things went swimmingly. I kind of want to go back and shoot some more in Autumn, but then again I love photographing rugged up kids so bring some on winter!

We have a fantastic new product too which is out Image Box, this is a great way to get a series of your favourite images in a custom made box. The 8×12 inch prints come matted and can be used outside of the box on a book stand, frame or just leave them in the box. I love these and it seems that everyone who comes through the gallery is falling in love with them too.

This session was as fun as it looks. Madeline first came in just before Charlie arrived, and through some work getting schedules to work we finally had the session. Charlie is a cheeky little dude with some snappy dress sence.

Proof yet again that Winter can be a fantastic time to have a family portrait. Don’t be scared of the weather!

After an epic 3 days last week the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP) held the Australian Professional Photography Awards (APPA) in Sydney. I was both an entrant and a judge. Entering takes ages, thinking about what to enter, re thinking about it, then over thinking it and trying to clear my thought to focus on what will be an award image. Even though i’m a judge it is still very hard to get up 4 great images to enter. Knowing all the effort that goes into entering, it can be hard to give a not so nice score to a print when it comes up to be judged. I know what it is like to just miss the mark, it happened to my twice with 2 of my prints comming within 1 and 2 points of getting an award. It proves to the people out there that judges are human and know what it is like to just miss out. I can see what the issues are with those images now, over thinking about it blinded me when I was finalising them. So next year, less thinking, more gutt instinct!

Congratulations to every one that picked up some awards. It was a pleasure to be able to talk up some prints into the gold catergory, a place reserved for really stand out work. When a link to all the award images is avaliable i’ll post it up.

In saying that, i did pick up a Silver in the wedding catergory (above), Silver in the portrait catergory (this image contains artistic nudity, if you are old enough please click here to view, you will need to enter the password “ok” to view) as well as a silver and silver distinction in the wedding album catergory. I really like getting awards for wedding albums, it isn’t just one stand out image from one wedding being judged. It’s the whole story being judged, in my case over 100 images in each of the albums. So i’m pretty happy about that.

So now I have to start thinking about next year now, but not too hard.

Remember back in Feburary when we ran our Valentine’s Day Competition? Well here are the winners David, Danielle and their little fur child Louis. Louis is a bit like me, will do tricks (like sit and stay) for food.

There was a great view all around where we took these photos on the waterfront in Hadspen. I didn’t see it personall, but i’m told it’s fantastic. Gotta love the fog this time of the year. And how great to these girls look in their red and blue outfits? Complimenting colours looks great in images, so much better than everyone wearing clothing (did i hear you say cult?). Anyway, thanks again to Katherine, Barry, Madison, Tamika and Kealey for hanging out in the fog and getting your feat wet. It really wasn’t that cold…was it?

I just love Eric’s range, serious and happy. I also love that I suggested the spot over there in the weeds would be a great spot for a couple of photos. And she just jumped in.

Anyone who has been hanging about the blog for a while would know that I have a history of shooting comedians. The Scared Weird Little Guys were one of the first comedy acts that I can remember liking and now, they are splitting up. I’ve seen John and Rusty do some awesome shows over the last 10 years and even one about 19 years ago at a scout jamboree. This shot was taken a while ago, think in about 1996 in their rehersal space. It’s the only time I managed to shoot a portrait of them, most of the time I was shooting their live shows. Thanks again John and Rusty for the laughts and cleverness you shared with many happy folk over the years and good luck your future endevours.

Ava’s ok at dancing. The trophy comes from Scotland where she managed to get second in the world. Unfotruatly the trophy has to go back soon, fortunatly it was still here to get into some photos. These shots were taken a couple of weeks ago when there was a little bit of extra water about. I managed to stay dry! Then again, I did mange to get very muddy…

Tree climbing, play groundsd, bear hunts, hide and seek, running, reading… what more could you want from two cool little boys?

Ok, i missed last week. This week I have compensated.

Matt -I’ve met Mat a cuple of times, his other half Jo is friends with V.

Mikey – I think it was 9 or 10 years ago when I took Mikeys photo gfor the first time. Yes, he was a baby then.

Oscar – I met Oscar at a wedding last year, he stole my wallet. I got it back eventually.

After some quick play with the make up brush, it was off to the park with Lila and her parents Craig and Monica. You might remember them from their wedding a couple of years ago. Catching up with previous wedding couple and meeting their little ones is on of the best parts of my job. Craig and Monica have been busy the last few years, the biggest thing after Lila would be co owning a couple of little resturaunts in Launceston. You may have heard of them, Black Cow and Stillwater. You can check out the resturants later, but for now enjoy Lila’s cuteness!

Cafe Rossilli had had a name change so it’s now PX Tapas, check their facebook page and drool over the food.

When I first met this fantastic family a couple of years ago (link to previous post here), Willow was only a little cute baby girl with amazing eyes. Now she is a cute little girl with amazing eyes. But lets not forget the rest of this fantastic family and amazing they all look. We really wanted to capture the family in a way that really suited them. As Damon is a surfer, the family love the beach and the east coast so it made sense to go off and photograph them all together down there doing what they love in a place they love.

Ps. I love the east coast too, looking forward to finding more families who would love to be photogaphed down there. Know of any who might be interested?

A natual light portrait, that is a bit studio.

When I initially started doing a portrait of the week it was aimed at being my practice time. All pro’s practice and train, so why should photographers be any different? So this week I pulled out the studio lights and had a play. Been a while since I’d used them in a creative way. Headshots and batbooth are great, but hardly exciting in t lighting sence.

Last week I was lucky enough to head to the East Coast and hang out with these great kids. Charlotte, Ava and Angus were very interested in showing me the beach just down from their home in Scamander. A great place for a family portrait.

A few years ago I stopped doing my portrait of the week. I had taken a portrait a week for about 200 weeks (yes, that’s over 3 years) but then I got busy. Now i’m still busy but kind of miss the portrait of the week thing. So it’s back. Lets see how I go.

To start with, i’m a week behind in posting. I shot this portrait at an impromptu tea drinking session with Jonathan, James and his wife Catherine.

Week two features Stan and Michelle with a cameo from Saffron, some oyster shells and my Olympus Trip35. Shot at Festivale just last weekend.

So, who do you think should be included in portrait of the week?

It seems like only last year that Michael and Camille got married. Oh Yeah, it was and this year they welcomed Tilly into the world. As you can see, she is very pretty in pink. I don’t know about you, but a babies smile at the 7 week old stage is a little heart melting. We all ended up out at Josef Chromy Vineyard where we got the last shot, it was worth braving the hay fever conditions.

This is Ken, or Dicko as i’ve known him for about 20 years. We met when I was a cub and he was a scout leader. Now i’m not a cub and he isn’t a scout leader.

He is retired and plays with the trains out in Evandale, just behind the market. He has built himself a little diesel locomotive that you can go have a ride on every second Sunday.

I’m out at Quamby Estate today to shoot Kate and Nathan’s wedding photos. Going to be a great day!  Stay tuned for some previews from this wedding next week. These shots were taken way back in April and some how were missed being posted, all fixed now!

I love our new Designer albums. Available in a 7×10 inch and a 10×14 inch size for both weddings and portraits. Edge to edge printing on all sides and a heap of new cover colours and materials including a really great assortment of designer woods. This offers a more contemporary feal to our albums, we still have the older matted albums which are also pretty ace, these ones are new and exciting. There are so many more possibilities with these ones and i’m really having a great time designing them. I’ll be showing all our wedding clients these albums when they are finalising the plans for their weddings and you can easily switch over your album style if you like. Portrait clients, these are the ultimate and we have already sold a few from resent sessions and I can’t wait to design some more.

Yep, they are all heading in the right direction as they were all a little smaller last time.

Josie asked if I could take some photos of her family, of course I said yes as that is what I do. Josie said she wanted somthing a bit different, so I said yes because that is what I do. After finding out a bit more info we settled on a shoot at Sam’s parents place, that was until Sam’s back when crack and we had to postpone the shoot for  a couple of months. Flash forward and the initial plan was overtaken by Josie’s idea for somthing different but really wanted Sam’s dad’s couch in the shot. While thinking of where somewhere different could be I looked out the window and saw my favourite carpark and the idea was born.

These kids are fantastic, all 5 of them! We all played up so much, running, jumping and generally surprising all the people coming back to their cars. Really a whole heap of fun!

Renee and Nathan may look familiar to a few people, you may remember there from this wedding photo. That was years ago and now they have added Lachlan to the family. As per the wedding, standard location was thought about and then dismissed for something unique and a bit more meaningful. Enter Salamanca Market, the biggest and busiest market in Tasmania. So along with a cute 11 month old and 2 adoring parent we also had a few hundred Hobartians and tourists to work with. It was a bit of fun, one point I was walking backwards up the hill into a throng of small tourists who really were more interested in looking side to side at wooden fruit than straight ahead at the rapidlt approaching photographer in reverse mode.

Lachlan was awesome, such a great kid. This is really the best part of my job, hanging out with clients on their wedding days and then coming back and meeting the new additions when they turn up.

Susanna and Dave dropped by for the standard planning session and in the usual chat the happens in every planning session it came out that David proposed on a roof top with a surprise picnic. Than it came out that they have had many other roof top picnics and experiences. It got me thinking about where we could do their first family portrait with Mariella. I didn’t have to think too much because outside the office window the view is dominated by the Mecure. A phone call and some meetings later and it was all set, sunset on the rooftop.

Susanna also took the nesting process to a whole new level turning their bed into a real nest with willow branches!

When I first read that there were Turtles in Vanuatu I was excited, I really wanted to get as close as possible to an animal I hadn’t seen before. I like turtles, but it’s been at a distance. That all changed on Moso Island.

We read that there was s Turtle Rookery on Tranquility Island (also known as Moso). We wanted to get there but really didn’t want to do the half day tour and see things that didn’t really interest us before we got to the rookery. After mentioning this to the guys at Havannah (the best place we have ever stayed) they arranged a trip for us on their little speed boat across the harbour to have our own look at the rookery.

I didn’t know what to expect, and after trekking through the jungle from the jetty we emerged into the rookery. Essentially it’s a heap of big white plastic tubs filled with turtles. The turtles are collected by local villages when they hatch and are bought to the rookery where they are paid for and then looked after until they are big enough to have a better chance of surviving in the wild.

The Hawksbill Turtle is critically endangered meaning that the species numbers have decreased, or will decrease, by 80% within three generations. So that means there isn’t that many about. To be in a little area with over a hundred of this amazing and beautiful reptile was fantastic.

The little ones are fragile and not able to be handled, but as you go down the tubs they get bigger and bigger until you get to the 2 year old turtles in the final cement tanks. These larger turtles are ready for release. The rookery relies on tourists coming by and sponsoring the turtles and releasing them. Of course, we had to do this. We picked up, measured it up and Vikashni walked it down beach and released it. TM (As we called it) was tagged and each time it is seen thy researchers will send us an email to let us know how it’s going. Very cool.

I hope TM is out there having a great time in the sea eating lots of jellyfish

Saturday was a long day, no wedding so it wa a full day of shoots in Hobart. And all over the place too. We started with Kim and Eliza down at Clifton. They bought along Dukkah and it was his first time at the beach. He loved it, all the other dogs to play with and the sand to dig.

Then off to Barry and Allana’s for their engagement shoot about their flat. I had to hold myself back, too many good shots to be had there. I have to save something for the wedding!

Then off to catch up with Dain and Lauren in Fitzroy Gardens… and someones driveway. This shot is a bit serious, but there are heaps more mucking about ones too. Dain made fun of me before i got a chance to make fun of him… just wait till the wedding Dain…

Then to finish off the day, a sunset shoot with Mark and Jacqui down on the waterfront. I love exploring the same place over and over and finding new ways to shoot it.

So that was my daylight shooting in Hobart. 4 really great shoots, i can’t wait to show and post more from these sessions, it’s going to be hard narrowing down everything!

5 Silvers for some prints and another silver for a wedding album. The wedding album went on to take out 2010 Tasmanian Wedding Album of the Year. Second time in a row i’ve picked up that one. Very happy about that. I’ll post the wedding album in it’s entirety soon… maybe even make it a slideshow.

Little bit ont he busy side but really wanted to get these ones posted. It was great to mess around with Andy and Allana whiloe we were shooting. I’m not sure if you have noticed… I really like shooting couples!

Some of you maybe away that there is a Photographer in Melbourne called Tom. He’s got a nice little studio for his portrait work and a great selection of work in his panoramic landscape gallery. About 10 years ago he got married to Rebecca, since then they added a couple of little rugrats to the family, namely Ella and Oliver. Vikashni and I went over to Melbourne a few weeks ago for a little bit of 10th Anniversary party dinner action and a few days later chased the Putts around the park. Always great to shoot a friend, Tom and I generally spend alot of time talking business but the shoot was all about family. And a great family it is too.

A couple of years ago I took a photo of Sara, Dwayne Ben and when she was expecting a baby and then we did some photos when Cameron had arrived. You can see those shots in the batblog post here. Well, about 2 years have passed and as up can see Cam is heading in the right direction!

It’s always fun to catch up a couple of years down the track and update the family photos. This time there was a bit of rough play, lots of jumping, wrestling, and a few head knocks, but nothing too much to worry about. We also hung out in Ben’s new tree house (or as I refer to it “tree mansion”) and also did a bit of jumping (and funny eyes) on the trampoline.

Cameron is at the perfect age, i love photographing 2 year olds. It’s a very cute time of life, the expressions and little things they get up to are worth capturing.

A confession, I did suffer a minor amount of vegetable garden envy during this shoot, their broccoli is doing much better than ours (I.e. not eaten by a bird or ravaged by caterpillars) But on a positive note it’s radish harvesting time tonight, going to be a good salad!

Another shoot from late last year. This one was worth waiting for, we all had a vision for the shoot and when ever we booked it the weather didn’t support that vision. But we did get there in the end. The Fishers have a little boat. This little boat won the Launceston to Hobart race at the end of last year!

So this shoot may have almost been too much fun and the cool thing is that there is a wedding in the future with these too which i’m sure will push the fun into overdrive! Nick and Rhea came all the way from their little home in Japan for the shoot (they may have come to see family for Christmas and have an engagement party too, but i’m sure the engagment photography session was the main reason )

The plan, lets meet and Jackman and Ross. It was closed. So we just wandered the steets of Battery Point and took some awesome shots, had lots of laughs and generally had a very fun time.

This is a first for me, photographing 2 horses. And could i get them to look at the camera and smile? Well, looking at the camera kinda succeeded but I have no idea what a horse smile looks like…

A few moths ago I was lucky to spend some time with the animals out at the RSPCA. They were all excited and being nice to me as they knew that I was going to be photographing them for the main month images for the 2010 RSPCA Calendar. Now the calendar is all ready and waiting for people to buy it. If you like animals, you will love this. Each day of the year features a different pet and there are some very cute ones there.

A strange lady came into the office a little while ago and asked if I could take some shots of her two boys. It turns out the strange lady was infact a nice fun lady with a couple of  strange boys. It turns out one of those strange boys was none other than  Zakk the Photobat Production assistant/bridesmaid for hire. We headed down to the sale yards on a very hot day to take some shots and make fun of Zakk’s brother Jervis. Watch out for Zakks handy work in the last photo…

Ok, a quick little post becaue i’m so behind in blogging. There will be more focus on posting a heap of images over writing heaps of words for the next couple of weeks… That said lets jump into Mandy and James’s shoot.

This was fun. Remember back when it was stinking hot a few weeks ago, that is when I caught up with James and Mandy for this shoot. Mandy’s nice bosslady Susan from Jim Hughes and Sons gave her a voucher that she received at a charity auction, she’s a very nice boss! 4 dogs is always a challenge, but I’ve never backed down from shooting lots of doggies and it was another win. These guys seem to like their animals, lots of dogs some sheep, I think there was a horse, or that may have been on the way, anyway, lots of animals (and comers too for you grammar nuts!).

I also managed to get lost finding their house, but getting lost is always fun when you find an awesome location to take photos at (and get splinters)

A couple of weeks ago I spent a fun afternoon with Molly and her parents Jack and Kellie. These guys went for a Lifestyle session which gave us heaps of time to take photos around the house, down the street, in the yard and also for a few changes of clothing. Molly was indeed the star of the shoot, but a very fine bit of star power went to Kellie and Jack too!
I like this bee! Way too cute to do any stinging!

I caught up with Susie and Adrian a few weeks ago, had a great time exploring all the photo opportunities in the house. Also Theodore was very good to us, these guys really really love Theo and it was important to get a great shot of him. He certainly had heaps of character!

Andrew is the little brother of one of my good friends. It was great to get asked to shoot his upcoming wedding to Trish, who I seems to have been hanging Andrew for a while. We were all in Hobart for Andrews brothers surprise party, so decided to head out and get some photos before the festivities. Again, there was this blue stuff in the sky, it’s starting to happen more often so I decided to use it, but kept the water in some shots to remind us of all the rain!

We have had to pospose so many portrait session of late due to the weather, can’t have kids getting cold and wet. It was great to get back out and photograph Ava a couple of weeks ago. The plan was to shoot in the park across the road from her place, but just as we get started we noticed the familiar rain starting up again. We retreated into the house, got some more shots, then out into the backyard.Ava and her dad had bought a new cupboard, which was just Ava sized, so we made good use of it. It kept the rain off, well, off Ava!

We did this head shot of Jeremy a couple of weeks ago, and now it has been published in ‘Inside Harcourts’, the magazine for Harcourts International.

Kangaroo Bluff is a great place for firing a canon. It’s not a bad place for an engagement portrait session either. That’s where Craig and Nyree come in. They are tying the knot next year and live not too far from this historic site, so it proved a great backdrop for their engagement session.

These guys were alot of fun to photograph, really playful, and so was Sprocket the award winning high jumping dog. I also met another main player in Craig’s life during the shoot, his car. No photo of the car as yet, saving those for the wedding post next year. It will be worth the wait, it’s a pretty cool car.
